NFL is reportedly paying for ad-blocking on social media for its players

There’s a rumor circulating on Twitter that the NFL is paying for the ad-block technology used by players to access the internet, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

The reports comes from a user who claims to be a former NFL player who has been using Google AdSense for years.

Garafol says that it is a bit of a stretch, but it seems the NFL may have been paying for a technology used for years in its own leagues to keep the NFL from appearing on the same websites as other NFL teams.

The technology was recently used in the NFLPA’s efforts to fight the NBA’s use of a technology known as Flash, which the league uses to block its content from appearing in players’ social media feeds.

A spokesperson for the league has not commented on the report.
